The food is cooked and often brought to your door. This limits the amount of exercise an overweight person gets. Fat is usually burned by a person who exercises, if no exercise takes place then the fat just clogs to arteries and organs. This can then go on to cause high cholesterol, strokes and heart disease which can lead to death.

Unhealthy ingredients Fast food contains high amounts of fat, sugar and salt which in high quantities is bad for us. The most common side effect of this is weight gain which can then lead to obesity. With obesity come health risks like diabetes, high cholesterol, and mobility problems. The thing is fast food restaurants don’t care about what their food does to people as long as they make money from it. The reason many go back for more is because this type of food can become addictive just like drugs or nicotine.

When people continue to eat like this their stomach starts to get larger making them eat more and more. Once they are addicted they will have trouble trying to cut down on this food. Their bodies crave it and it often leads to them continuing with this unhealthy diet.

Advertising should be banned Many fast food restaurants have tried to help with the rise in obesity by adding healthy options to their menus and reducing the amount of salt and sugar in their food. This hasn’t helped simply because a person will be reluctant to try new food. Advertising is also the problem. Adverts on the TV and in newspapers just tempt people even more, plus menus are often posted through your door on a regular basis. These advertisements are often created to make people buy their product and they will use special offers and other techniques to keep tempting you into buying their food.

Forget about fast food if you need to lose weight then the first step is to stop eating fast food. This will require a lot of will power but with help and support you are more likely to succeed. Once you’ve stopped eating fast food you are likely to lose weight. With the money you save you will be able to buy healthier food.
